Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. She also sings. Her family was home-schooled by her mother within the USA. She was subjected to racial insults, she was felt unloved. As she entered the 9th grade she started to feel more confident when she was applauded by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered the direction she was heading in her life. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. The most notable success of her career came when she played The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's original Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by critics. The following year, she appeared on the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. Also, she is a well-known performer and has published an extended version of her play. Also, she is an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
