Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actress, singer, and dancer. Some of her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her role in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings over a Century. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first big character. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
